A semi-automatic case-packing system is usually the better first investment when operators can load the prepared noodle groups into cartons at the required case rate without becoming the line bottleneck. A fully automatic system is justified when manual loading cannot sustain the required output, staffing is unreliable, pack counts must be controlled automatically, or format complexity makes operator variation too expensive.

For a factory receiving 450 accepted noodle packs per minute, the required case rate is 11.25 cases per minute at 40 packs per carton, approximately 10.23 at 44, 9.38 at 48 and 8.65 at 52. At 300 packs per minute, the corresponding rates are 7.50, 6.82, 6.25 and 5.77 cases per minute. Those numbers—not 300 or 450—are the starting point for selecting a loading concept.
